Overview

CASE NO: 3147

RULING BY THE NEW ZEALAND MEDIA COUNCIL ON THE COMPLAINT OF SCOTT SAVAGE AGAINST ALL MEDIA OUTLETS

FINDING: INSUFFICIENT GROUNDS TO PROCEED

DATE: NOVEMBER 2021

Scott Savage complained that all media were taking the “dumb stance” that unvaccinated people are an issue.

“It is my body and my rules. I am highly offended at the racism you aimed at me and will never take the untested vaccine when I have never been sick and how dare you suggest to the nation for months now that we the unvaccinated people of NZ are the problem….stop these lies and stop this racist approach towards those who are awake and can think for ourselves.”

Mr Savage’s statement of complaint is generalised, unspecific and presents no evidence to support a breach of any Media Council principles.

There were insufficient grounds to proceed.
